The District of Columbia has the highest percentage of women construction workers in the nation, according to data from the Bureau of Labour Statistics.
Commercial Observer (CO) recently reported that approximately 10.9% of construction workers nation-wide are women, citing the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). This represents an all-time high. In DC, 17.6% per cent of workers are female.
