SMPS DC celebrates association excutive transition, recognizes members at Fall into Autumn Kickoff

The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) DC chapter celebrated its transition to a new association year at its annual Fall into Autumn Kickoff on Sept. 28.

The 2023-24 Board of Directors will be led by president Abby Harrington. Other executive members include: Suzanne Swistak, president-elect; Amy Cuddy, past president; Laura Okell, treasurer; Courtney Messick, secretary; Amanda D’Luhy, careeradvancement; Jen McGovern, chapter advisor; Kaitlyn Sweigard, communications; Amanda Haven, education; Karen Cotton, member engagement; Alana Alsop, [rocurement; Stephanie Murdoch, BDRT/SMRT; and Jessica Gillette, special events.

At the event, the association recognized two individuals who have offered exceptional volunteer service.

Samantha Finelli of Hensel Phelps received the Rising Star Award, recognizing “chapter members with fewer than five years of experience who have shown dedication to our chapter through volunteerism and committee involvement,” the chapter says.

Meanwhile Justin Jacobs (Walter P. Moore) received the 2023 Ginny Solomon Golden Tuba Award, recognizing a”current chapter member whose accomplishments and impact on our profession are something for us all to aspire to and admire.”

Event sponsors included Hensel Phelps and Substance 151.
